Foxygen à Montréal en octobre 2014 | Nouvel album à venir

Foxygen sera de retour à Montréal le dimanche 12 octobre 2014 pour un concert au National. Et son nouvel album paraîtra deux jours plus tard.

Le groupe californien fera suite à son brillantissime We Are The 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace and Magic (paru en janvier 2013) avec un nouvel album intitulé …And Star Power, une ambitieuse galette de 24 chansons totalisant 82 minutes d’écoute. Date de sortie : 14 octobre.

On nous promet des invités spéciaux, du « psych-ward folk, de la fantaisie cartoonesque, des indulgences soft rock, du doomrock D&D » et toute sorte d’adjectifs débiles du genre.

Le concert à Montréal s’inscrit dans une vaste tournée nord-américaine à l’automne, qui se greffera aux quelques spectacles déjà prévus à l’horaire pour le mois d’août. En tout, 33 concerts sont prévus aux États-Unis et au Canada pour les prochains mois.

La parution d’un nouvel album de Foxygen est peut-être une meilleure nouvelle encore qu’un concert à Montréal, le groupe ayant plus ou moins bonne réputation en terme de prestation scénique. Leur dernier passage à Montréal, au Il Motore en mai 2013, avait été pour le moins chaotique. Le groupe devait revenir en octobre 2013, mais le concert avait été annulé.

Reste à voir si l’excentrique chanteur Sam France saura canaliser sa folie et son intensité cette fois…
