The Afghan Whigs à Montréal en septembre 2014

Le groupe alt-rock américain The Afghan Whigs sera en concert au Théâtre Corona Virgin Mobile, à Montréal, le vendredi 5 septembre 2014. 

The Afghan Whigs vient d’annoncer les dates d’une tournée de 27 spectacles en Amérique du Nord, du 26 août (à Portland) au 31 octobre, à Austin (Texas).

Trois villes canadiennes auront droit à la visite du groupe, soit Vancouver (29 août), Montréal et Toronto (6 septembre, dans le cadre du Riot Fest).

Formé en 1986, The Afghan Whigs a connu un certain succès d’estime au cours des années 1990, notamment grâce à son association au label SubPop Records, dont la notoriété a explosé avec les années Nirvana. Après 16 ans d’absence sur disque, le groupe effectuait son retour avec Do to the Beast en avril dernier. 

The Afghan Whigs a notamment pris part au festival Coachella, toujours en avril, prouvant qu’il a encore ce qu’il faut pour brasser la cage en concert.
